Tom worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation and then as a cheese maker for Beatrice Foods. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He will be so deeply missed by his family and friends. He was always a loving and loyal son, brother, uncle, great uncle and cousin.
Tom (Uncle Tom) has blessed us with examples of how to be a wonderful part of a family. He was always present at family gatherings, a constant in our lives, and a pillar of strength in times of great need. He was always patient, kind, generous, thoughtful, loving, and compassionate. Tom had a great listening ear. He never complained, judged anyone or held any grudges. He was the epitome of what it takes to be a good person, a decent human being.
Tom was a simple person, never wanting of expensive, material possessions. He gave of himself, quietly and humbly to anyone in need. His family owes him unending love for the sacrifices he made on their behalf. Tom also donated to many charities, especially those involving children and animals. And how he loved our family pets!
Affectionately called “Spanky” by some of his friends, Tom truly enjoyed their company as well. Some of his friends also shared his love of horse racing, a sport he was very knowledgeable about and enjoyed traveling to the Kentucky Derby and Saratoga, NY with them.
Tom was afflicted all his life with physical disabilities complicated by his Crohn’s Disease, yet he never allowed these issues to prevent him from working hard and being such an important part of our lives. “God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers” and he was definitely one of them.
Tom is survived by his brother, Charlie Malitsch and wife Judy; nieces and nephews, Phillip, Douglas and Jennifer; very loving great nieces and nephews, Charlotte, Grant, Preston, Mitchell, Maverick, Maxwell, Emilia and Juliette; cousins, Monica, Matthew, Faith, Donna, Katarina, Michele, Tami and Connor.
