Marie B. (Androsky) Cessna, 86, of Allentown, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late Lewis C. Cessna. Born in Glen Campbell, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Androsky. Marie was a member of St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church. She was previously a volunteer at Hogar Crea.

Arlene M. Chankey
Arlene M. (Miller) Chankey, 90, of Allentown, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late Michael Chankey. Born in East Allen Twp, she was the daughter of the late Wralston and Irene (Hoffman) Miller. She worked as a sewing machine operator for over 40 years at Modern Clothing. She was a member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church where she was involved in the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a officer and board member of the UKES Club. She coached the Jr. Bowling league at the UKES Club for many years with her husband. She was known for her gardening, baking, catering and cooking including halupki, pierogies and kiffles.

Maria (Stecyna) Chorwat, 88, of Allentown, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012. She was born in Hlyna, Ukraine and was the loving wife to the late Dmytro Chorwat. Maria retired from Modern Clothing after many years of service. She was a member of St. Josaphats Ukrainian Catholic Church. Maria loved to garden and to take care of her flowers. Survivors: Sons, Jaroslaw and wife Marika of Allentown, Bohdan of Allentown; grandson, Luka. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters.
Services: A viewing will be held on Friday, 6 to 8 p.m., with Parastas at 7 p.m., and then Saturday, a viewing 8:45 to 9:15 a.m., with Panachyda at 9:15 a.m., all in Kohut Funeral Home, Inc., 950 N. Joseph Ciffer
Joseph “Joey” Ciffer, 65, of Bethlehem, PA went home to the Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in St. Lukes Hospital, Bethlehem. Born and raised in Easton, PA he was the son of the late Ann (Lanski) and Joseph E. Ciffer. Joey was also predeceased by a twin brother at birth. His parents were founding members of LARC and the Arc of Lehigh & Northampton Counties where Joey was a lifelong member. For many years Joey worked at VIA. Joey was active with the MORA bowling league for over 3 decades. He was a charter member of Faith and Light Community at Mercy Special Learning Center. He also enjoyed horseback riding with the special needs Equestrian program in Center Valley, and visiting the Eagles training camp at Lehigh University. Joey remained an avid Eagles & Flyers fan throughout his life.
Joey was a former member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Easton, PA.
He is lovingly remembered by his guardians, Priscilla & Ron Koch, his housemate, Lenny and his many special friends and caregivers at Community Services Group.

"Pani Halyna" Anna Czekaluk
“Pani Halyna” Anna Czekaluk, 88, of Allentown, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012 in her daughter’s home. She was the devoted wife of the late Very Reverend Protopresbyter William Czekaluk. Born in Poltava, Ukraine, she was the daughter of the late Sarafina (Abramitz) and Michael Miasoid and sister to the late Peter Miasoid. While in Ukraine she was a mathematics professor, married her husband and gave birth to her late daughter, Lubomyra. After moving to the United States and becoming a citizen, she devoted her life to her church and family. She was an active member of St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Allentown; a member of St. Mary’s Seniors, the Sisterhood, the Sunday School, the Ladies Auxiliary and Soyuz Ukrainok. She was a loving wife, mother and friend.
