David F. Miller, 83, of Allentown, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013. He was the loving husband of 53 years to Louise M. (Harsch) Miller. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Jacob and Anna (Kehs) Miller. David served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a retired cabinet maker from Lehigh Lumber. David was a member of St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church.

Lucy Therese (Talocci) Maruscak, 79, of Allentown, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013. She was the loving wife, of 55 years, to John T. Maruscak. Born in New Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Oliva Talocci. Lucy was a 1952 graduate of Nesquehoning High School. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the church choir. Lucy worked for Laneco for 19 years.

Margaret M. (Schrampf) Matsco, 81, formerly of Whitehall, passed away surrounded by loving family on Sunday, May 19, 2013 in Holy Family Manor. She was the loving wife of the late Paul Matsco. Born in Patterson, NJ she was the daughter of the late Frank and Emma (Ressler) Schrampf. Margaret retired as a garment worker for various garment factories in Allentown. She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Catasauqua. She was also a member of the ILGWU and the Bi- Cen- Ten Club.

Sophia Z. (Zukowski) Unger Molovinsky, 88, of Allentown, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013. She was the wife of the late Francis Unger and then the late Samuel Molovinsky. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Bronislaw and Ludwiga (Grebowiec) Zukowski. Sophia was retired from AT&T and a member of Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Rose M. Mriss
Rose M. Mriss, former of Strawberry Patch, died Dec. 28, 2012. Born Oct. 19, 1913 to Otilia and Stephen Vitalos. She was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church. She was married to Joseph Burdock who died from wounds received in WWII and later married Joseph Mriss who died in 1977. Rose buried her son Joseph Burdock and her daughter Rose Ann Mriss Csillag. She is survived by a granddaughter Christine Csillag and 2 Great Grandchildren. Rose was a sewing machine operator and worked in various factories in Allentown until her retirement. She belonged to the Slovak Assoc. and was active in their Heritage Events. She also belonged to Prime Time Seniors and loved to go to dances at various clubs in the Lehigh Valley. Rose will be sadly missed by the Vitalos, Janotka and Mriss families and her good friends.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 1PM in St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Cemetery 924 N Front St. Allentown c/o Kohut Funeral Home, Inc.
Ellen M. Morgan
Ellen M. Morgan, 69, of Allentown died Monday, August 6, 2012 in the Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the daughter of the late John Wotherspoon and Julia (Krickovitz) Boyle. She was married to the late William J. Pavlick who passed away on December 15, 2006. Ellen was employed as an inspector at Agere for 33 years until her retirement.
Survivors: Children, Terrie, Sherrie and Scott Morgan; grandson, Michael J. Senick IV; sisters, Jean and Ed Brown, Stef and Joe Jezick, Erin and Clarence Burton; brothers, Shawn and Sue Boyle, Patrick Boyle; nieces and nephews; close family friend Marianne Granite and sons Nick and Kevin Boyle and sue Boyle Ellen was predeceased by brothers, Matthew and Darrin Boyle.
Services: Private and at the convenience of the family. Kohut Funeral Home, Inc is handling the arrangements.
Elizabeth "Betty" Miklovic
Elizabeth “Betty” (Bandzuch) Miklovic, 90, of Allentown, passed away Thursday, March 08, 2012. She was the loving wife of the late Peter Miklovic. Born in Spisske Vlachy, Slovakia, she was the daughter of the late Alzbeta and Andre Bandzuch. Betty was a member of St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church for 66 years. She was also a member of St. John’s Auxiliary and Primetime Group and was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. Betty enjoyed traveling to Europe and across the United States with her children and husband, Pete.

Alex F. "Bub" Mackiewicz
Alex Frank Mackiewicz (Bub) 43, of Allentown PA died Sunday November 13th at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown, PA. Born in Reading PA he was the son of Alex and MaryEllen Mackiewicz and brother to two sisters Christine and Andrea.
Alex was a truly blessed gift from God and brought joy, admiration and inspiration to those who knew and loved him. He had a gentle smile and sometimes a hardy laugh that softened the seriousness of his condition and would brighten any room. He enjoyed taking trips in the family suv with his parents (which we called “Bub Days”), listening to music and especially enjoyed the food his devoted mother prepared for him every day.
Alex is survived by his parents, Alex and MaryEllen Mackiewicz and his sisters, Christine Papic, wife of Donat and Andrea Blake, wife of Craig. He has 1 nephew and 3 nieces, Donny, Natalie, Olivia and Rachel Papic and extended family of his Uncle Richard and his wife Aunt Linda Mackiewicz and their children Stacy and Alexis.
Calling hours are from 6-8PM on Wednesday, November 16th with Parastas at 7PM in Kohut Funeral Home, Inc. 950 N. Front St. Allentown. Private viewing and Funeral Service for family members will be held at The Protection of Holy Theotokos Ukrainian Orthodox Church on Fullerton Ave.
