Marcella E. (Gurgick) Prockup, 94, of Allentown passed away August 21, 2015 in Phoebe Home. She was the loving wife of the late Michael Prockup. Born in Ashely, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret Gurgick. Marcella retired from Western Electric after 27 years of service. She was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church.
Survivors:
Sons- Michael and wife Alberta of Liverpool, NY and Kenneth and wife Sharon of Emmaus; Grandsons- Matthew and James. She was predeceased by her 10 siblings- Vincent, Leonard, Albert, Thomas, William, James, Dolores Grazer, Margaret Andrew, Mildred Helinsky and Marie Sutjak.

Maria Pelc
Maria (Zurawski) Pelc, 87, of Allentown, passed away June 22, 2015. Born in Baligrod, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Josef and Anna Zurawski. She was the wife of the late Michael Pelc. Maria was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Polish Catholic Church, where she was a member of the choir and the ladies auxiliary. She was a member of the Polish American Citizens Society where she loved to make her famous pierogies. She was an avid gardener, caring for her flowers and vegetables. She was a great cook making her special Polish dishes.
Survivors: Sons- Joseph and his wife Karen, Casmier and his wife Deborah; Daughter- Alice and her husband Barry Wimmer; 5 Grandsons; 3 Sisters living in Poland. She was predeceased by 3 Brothers in Poland.

John B. Pavlacka Jr
John B. Pavlacka, Jr., 83, of Danielsville, passed away June 14, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband to Dolores M. (Clinese) Pavlacka, celebrating their 55th Anniversary June 11, 2015. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Jupin) Pavlacka. John served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Mack Trucks after 19 years of service. John was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Jednota where he participated in bowling. He helped with the Downtown Youth Center, Bucky Boyle Park and other local clubs and groups. John enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball, woodworking, fishing and playing basketball when he attended Central Catholic High School. He loved baseball, was a QVC addict and was a strong, passionate, loving man that was full of jokes and funny sayings.

He was predeceased by his brother- Leonard Pavlacka.

Josephine (Woroniak) Peters, 94, of Allentown, passed away January 19, 2015 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. She was the wife of the late Edison T. “Buster” Peters. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Ciuna) Woroniak. Josephine was retired from Allison Manufacturing. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and of the ILGWU for 30 years. Josephine was an Assistant Leader for Girl Scouts Troop 64 for many years.

Theresa Polaha
Theresa M. Polaha, 83, of Allentown, died peacefully on Christmas morning, Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Allentown. Born in Northampton, PA, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Johanna (Csencsits) Stubits. She graduated in 1948 from Northampton High School. She was the loving wife of Joseph Polaha for 63 years. She was a kind, loving and selfless wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor and will be greatly missed.
Survivors: In addition to her husband, Joseph, she is survived by four sons, Thomas P. and wife, Connie, of Allentown, Jospeh P. and wife, Frances, of Allentown, Paul M. and wife, Lisa, of Orefield, Michael P. and wife, Doreen, of Newport Beach, CA; one daughter, Janice M. Myers and husband, Andrew, of Breinigsville; one brother, Joseph Stubits and wife, Jackie, of Fernandina Beach, FL; four grandsons, Thomas Polaha (Tara), Brian Polaha (Selene), Nathan Myers and Luke Myers; seven granddaughters, Rachel Moore (Kevin), Christine Polaha, Amanda Polaha, Kelly Polaha, Megan Polaha, Victoria Polaha and Rebecca Polaha and four great-grandchildren, Thomas J. Polaha, Tyler Polaha, Brayden Polaha and Ellyn Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents, John M. and Johanna (Csencsits) Stubits, four sisters, Johanna Ahlborn, Mary Kelly, Frances Yost and Rose Stubits and two step-sisters, Mary Anselmin and Terry Mayer.

James “Jim” Pozza, 56, of Allentown, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 in his home. He was the loving husband of 17 years to Pixie (Beahm) Pozza. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Adolfo “Reno” and Constance J. (Cunningham) Pozza. Jim worked for many years as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor for CADA. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Jim was a past volunteer for AIDS Outreach and was a voting machine operator for several years.
