Alex Parastino, 92, of Allentown, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012. He was
the husband of the late Mary (Zibura) Parastino. Born in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Samuel and Anna (Renko) Parastino. Alex served in the U.S. Army
during WWII. He was retired as a foreman from Kutztown Shoe Mfg. Alex was a
member of St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church. He was also a member of the UKE Club, the Lehigh Valley Penn State Club, the Fullerton Fire Co. and the Saengerbund Club.
He will be sadly missed by his entire family
Son - Dennis and his wife, Julia and grandchildren Matthew and Kathryn of
Franconia
Daughter - Donna Marie of Whitehall
and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by five sisters, Eva, Stella, Frances, Stephenia and
Kitty and two brothers, Raymond and Frank.

celebrated Friday at 11AM in St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church 924 N.
Front St. Allentown 18102. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.

Jean D. Prochaska
Jean D. (McIlhaney) Prochaska, 86, of Allentown, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 in the home of her daughter Joan Benthien. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Prochaska. They were married for 58 years before his passing. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Queen (Snyder) McIlhaney. She was a 1943 graduate of William Allen High School. Jean retired in 1987 from Allentown School District’s William Allen High School, after 17 years of service as a Cafeteria Worker where she received a Performance Award. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church where she volunteered while her daughters were growing up. She also sang in St. Catherine’s Choir. Jean was an avid lover of dogs all her life.
She will be sadly missed by her entire family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM in the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church 1825 W. Turner St. Allentown 18104. Burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

John S. Panik, Jr.
John Stephan Panik, Jr., 79, of Orefield passed on July 27, 2011. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Collins) Panik, predeceased May 2011, for 53 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Mihalek) Panik. He is survived by son, John; daughters, Kathleen Pelletier, Patricia Panik and husband Gary Griffith, Maria Smith and husband Dave; grandchildren, Tiffany Werner and husband Chris, Kristin Smith, Jason and Jaclyn Pelletier, and Maria Erie; great-grandchildren, Arianna, Bryce and Cameron Werner; sisters, Anna Groller, Margaret Evenega, Marie Gaspar, Rose Muthard, and Helen Kuchera (predeceased).
John was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Allentown. He served as Corporal during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 576, Allentown. His working career ended with retirement from Mack Truck, Macungie as a Facilities Engineer.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. He loved telling stories to his grandchildren and anyone who would listen. He was a fun loving person who had a knack for making people laugh. He will be missed dearly.
Mass of Christian Burial for both John and Patricia will be celebrated August 8, 2011 at 10:30am in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 924 N Front St. Allentown. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements care of Kohut Funeral Home, Inc.

Stefan Ihor Petrowsky
Stefan Ihor Petrowsky, 84, of Allentown, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011 peacefully in his home. He was the loving husband of 58 years to Olga (Belzecky) Petrowsky. Born in Ukraine, he was the son of the late Filko and Hellah Petrowsky. Stefan was retired from the former Willard Battery/ Exide. He was a member of St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
