Rose (Ilko) Stellar, 87, of Allentown, passed away Friday, August 12, 2011 in Whitehall Manor. She was the loving wife of the late William J. Stellar Sr. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anastasia Ilko. Rose was a member of St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church and Les Ames.
She will be sadly missed by her entire family.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday 1:00-1:30PM in Kohut Funeral Home, Inc. 950 N Front St. Allentown. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 2:00 PM in St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church 924 N Front St. Allentown. Burial will be private at a later date.

Eleanor Smigo
Eleanor Smigo of Mosser Nursing Home and formally of Whitehall and Northampton died Thursday, August 4, 2011 in Lehigh Valley Health Network at 79. Eleanor was born in Mahoney City, Schuylkill County to the late Bertha (Pawk) and Peter Smigo. She graduated from William Allen High School in 1949 where she once dreamt of becoming a clothing designer and was a student council member. Her hobbies included drawing, baking and knitting.
Eleanor was employed and a retiree of GE and later Falk’s Department Store. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church in Allentown. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her siblings: Joseph, Peter, William, Edward, John, Bertha Gurgick, and most recently her sister Olga which whom she resided most of her life. She was also predeceased by a nephew, David Smigo.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews by whom she’ll be deeply missed: Joseph Smigo, William Smigo, Kathleen Finney, Barbara Smigo -Fink, John Smigo, Carol Smigo-Martin, Debbie Tanzosh, William Gurgick, Anthony Gurgick, Mary Link and Eric Weiss.
Services: A viewing will be held on Monday 12-12:30PM with a Panachida at 12:30 all in Kohut Funeral Home, Inc. 950 N Front St. Allentown 18102. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 1PM in St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church 163 W Green St. Allentown. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.

Helen Shatsky
Helen Shatsky, 86, of Quakertown, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Rose Shatsky. Helen was retired from General Electric’s Accounting Dept. where she had been Head of Payroll. She was a member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Allentown.
She will be sadly missed by entire family.

Niece- Jane of Bath
She was predeceased by her brothers- Michael and John and sister- Anne.
A viewing will be held Thursday 9:15- 10AM with a Funeral Service at 10AM all in St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church 1045 Fullerton Ave Allentown 18102. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements care of Kohut Funeral Home, Inc.

William Sabo
William (Bill) T. Sabo, 85, of Allentown, passed away Wednesday, June 08, 2011. He was the life long companion of the late Betty Hafer. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Michael and Helen (Bertha) Sabo.
Bill graduated with a bachelors degree from East Stroudsburg University. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Bill was a teacher for the Deposit, NY School District and then the Allentown School District. During the summer months, Bill was employed by the Allentown Recreation Dept., maintaining the tennis courts at Jordan Park for over 20 years. Bill was an avid tennis player and bowler. He belonged to numerous bowling leagues and enjoyed ballroom dancing.
Survivors: Son, Rick Hafer of Minnesota; grandchildren, Zachary, Amaura and Weston; great-grandchildren, Leah, Caroline and Evan; sister, Helen Lucas of Allentown; brother, Chuck Sabo of Allentown. He was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph Sabo, Marie Stalsitz and John Sabo.
