Joseph C. Stupak, 86, of Northampton, passed away January 13, 2026 in the home of his friends of 52 years Geoffrey and Deborah Buskirk, after a battle with cancer. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Stephen and Helen (Sugra) Stupak. Joseph graduated from Central Catholic High School and attended Muhlenberg College. He then served in the U.S. Marines for 6 years. Joseph lived in Denver, CO for a few years where he was an owner and operator of two restaurants while he was there. Joseph worked for Bethlehem Steel from 1974-1998. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church in Allentown, where he enjoyed attending their social events. Joseph enjoyed fishing, cooking, dancing to old time rock and roll and liked the Eagles & Phillies. He loved relaxing in the sun at the beach and was an avid collector of classic cars. But most of all he treasured his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
Survivors: children- Jason Stupak, Michael Lanski and partner Linda, Jennifer Boerstler and husband Jeff; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; companion- Mary Grozalis and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother- Stephen Stupak, sister- Jacqueline Benkovic, previous companion of 40 years- Genevieve Lanski.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 24th 10-11AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM all in St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church 924 N. Front St. Allentown, PA 18102. Burial will be Private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Joseph’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital care of Kohut Funeral Home, Inc.
