Corina K. (Benkovic) Cook, 53, of Nazareth, passed away peacefully November 9, 2025. She was the loving wife to Peter J. Cook, with whom she spent 33 years beside. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Kathleen (Kotran) Benkovic. Corina graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1989 and then earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree and then Master of Arts & English from Kutztown University. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Corina became a teacher with LCCC, a writer, a crafter and was a very creative artist. She enjoyed helping with knitting and sewing projects at Kraemer Yarns. She even created her own knitting patterns, having one even featured in Grumpy Cat Magazine. She loved to share her talent with others, knitting all different kinds of items for her family and friends. Corina had a love for animals, especially corgis. She was an avid music listener and enjoyed playing “music trivia” games with her sister Krista. She will be remembered for her humor and extraordinary love shown to everyone. She will be deeply missed.
Carl “Cappy” A. Clarke, 78, of Orefield, passed away August 20, 2025. He was the loving companion to Regina Ross. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Bernadette Haber. Carl served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, especially in the Outer Banks and listening to Blue Grass music. He will be deeply missed.
Howard A. Clinese Jr., 84, of Pen Argyl, passed away on May 26, 2025. He was the loving husband to Peggy L. (Walker) Clinese, celebrating their 50th Anniversary March 1, 2025. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Howard and Anna (Billowitch) Clinese. He was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School, class of ’59, and served in the U.S. Navy. Howard was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Pen Argyl. For many years, he was employed by Johnson Wax as a restaurant sales rep.
John Car, 85, of Allentown, passed away June 2, 2024. He was the loving husband of 16 years to Elizabeth V. Car and previously to Anna Car for 41 years until her passing. Born in Poland on May 7, 1939, John was the son of the late John and Maria (Kochan) Car. A proud American citizen, John also took pride in being a commercial truck driver and worked for many years as a supervisor for different textile manufacturing companies. He was a member of the former Saints Peter and Paul Polish Catholic Church and currently of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church. John enjoyed gardening, driving, and staying active. He was a very proud father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed.
Karen Sue Chobot, 58, of Allentown, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022. She was the daughter of the late August and Elizabeth (Knotek) Chobot. She worked previously for Dixie.
Thomas C. Costello, Sr., 74, of Allentown, passed away July 31, 2022. He was the loving husband of 52 years to Susan (Ward) Costello. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Stephen and Anna (Federinitz) Costello. He graduated from William Allen High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. Tom retired from the City of Allentown after 32 years of service working in building maintenance. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church. He was always "on the go"- snow blowing the neighborhood in the winter, cutting all the grass in the summertime and through out the entire year he would walk the neighborhood picking up trash and looking out for the best for everyone around him. For many years he played Santa Claus for friends, neighbors, community members and even rode the fire truck into Center City Allentown on Hamilton St. He never failed to help anyone- he loved all of the community members. Tom never missed a phone call for a family member's birthday, anniversary, holidays and big events in their lives. Tom was one of the best pierogi, halupki and pizza makers around. He loved to go to Shady Maple Smorgasbord and the Golden Gate Diner. He could watch his old cowboy shows a thousand times. But most of all Tom was a man who lived for his grandchildren and was so proud of all of them. He was an amazing husband, dad and grandpop that will be deeply missed.
Monica Csencsits, 90, of Holy Family Manor passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on July 8, 2022. Born on August 11, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Julia (Solomon) Schonwald. She was married for fifty-five years to Edward Csencsits who passed away in 2006.
Teresa Cyncelak, 81, of Allentown, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021. Born in Poland, she was the daughter of the late Feliksa Szyprzak and Marek Cyncelak. Teresa was of the Catholic faith and had done clerical work in Poland for many years. She enjoyed reading books, watching movies and crocheting. She will be deeply missed.
