Anthony “Tony” P. Valek, Jr. passed away November 28, 2025. He was the loving companion of 32 years to Deborah L. Stettler. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Lorraine (Gross) and Anthony Valek, Sr. Tony graduated from Dieruff High School and attended LCCC. Tony worked for many years as a machinist. He was a life member of the Fullerton Fire Co. and later joined the West Catty Fire Co. Tony enjoyed running, and ran in the Philadelphia distance run several times. He even ran a “Girls on the Run” 5K with his granddaughter. He enjoyed collecting arrowheads and old bottles, where he and his brother would spend hours scouring through old fields and farmland. He loved helping others and would even cut many of his neighbor’s lawns, and he and Deb made Sunday dinner for several older neighborhood friends. He will be deeply missed.
Irene Catherine Valek, 96, of North Catasauqua, passed away January 12, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late William S. Valek. They were married for 33 years before his passing in 1995, and lived in Allentown.
Charlette Ann (Charles) Vitalos, 79, passed away August 31, 2024 in St. Lukes Hospital Bethlehem. She was the loving wife of Thomas J. Vitalos, to whom she shared 41 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2009. Charlette was born in Allentown on August 25, 1945, and was the daughter of Charles Thomas Charles and Helen (Wagner) Charles. Charlette graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School in 1963 and from Bethlehem Business School in 1965. She was employed by E. C. Machine & Son as an assistant secretary. She was then a homemaker for 10 years and then went to work for Sears Credit Central for 15 years. Upon the Sears office closing in 1992, she was employed by Peoples First Credit Union for 23 years, retiring as a loan officer/supervisor. Charlette enjoyed bowling, ceramics, mystery novels, crocheting, crossword puzzles, trivia games, pinocle and spending time with family and friends. She was of the Catholic faith.
Reinaldo Viruet, 86, of Whitehall, passed away December 2, 2021. He was the loving husband of Carmen M. (DelRio) Viruet. Born in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Juan and Rosario (Ortega) Viruet. Reinaldo was a member of Iglesia Evangelica Pentecostal Church in Allentown. He enjoyed boxing, training, participating in rooster fighting, and playing music on his guitar for his grandchildren. He also liked to watch wrestling and boxing on tv and listen to oldies. He will be deeply missed.
Frank Vyhonsky, 63, of Whitehall, passed away November 17, 2016. He was the loving husband of over 40 years to Jane (Kobulska) Vyhonsky. Born in Presov, Slovakia, he was the son of the late Frank and Margita (Sechna) Vyhonsky. Frank retired as a mechanical engineer from Bosch- RexRoth. He was very active and enjoyed playing tennis, riding bicycle, golfing and traveling. Frank also enjoyed watching soccer games.
Anthony P. Valek, Sr., 89, of Allentown, passed away June 22, 2016. He was the loving husband of the late Lorraine G. (Gross) Valek. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Kristina J. (Gastan) Valek. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Anthony was a member of St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church. Anthony retired from Allison Manufacturing after many years of service.
