Anthony “Tony” P. Valek, Jr. passed away November 28, 2025. He was the loving companion of 32 years to Deborah L. Stettler. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Lorraine (Gross) and Anthony Valek, Sr. Tony graduated from Dieruff High School and attended LCCC. Tony worked for many years as a machinist. He was a life member of the Fullerton Fire Co. and later joined the West Catty Fire Co. Tony enjoyed running, and ran in the Philadelphia distance run several times. He even ran a “Girls on the Run” 5K with his granddaughter. He enjoyed collecting arrowheads and old bottles, where he and his brother would spend hours scouring through old fields and farmland. He loved helping others and would even cut many of his neighbor’s lawns, and he and Deb made Sunday dinner for several older neighborhood friends. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors: daughter- Jessica George and husband Ryan; companion- Deborah Stettler; granddaughter- Kaylyn George; brothers- Joe Valek and wife Jamie, Bob Valek and wife Rovena. He was predeceased by his brother- Jim Valek and sister- Lori Moyer.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 4th 6-8PM and Friday, December 5th 10-11AM with a Service to follow at 11AM in Kohut Funeral Home, Inc. 950 N. Front St. Allentown, PA 18102. Burial to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Allentown.

Irene Catherine Valek, 96, of North Catasauqua, passed away January 12, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late William S. Valek. They were married for 33 years before his passing in 1995, and lived in Allentown.

Born in Upper Macungie Township, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Veronica (Hudak) Majercak and grew up in Stiles and Northampton.

Irene was a member of St John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church in Allentown.

She was a housewife while her husband owned and operated the Allentown Floral Shop on Fullerton Avenue, and then was employed at the Schneider Mfg. Co. Inc. in Allentown for several years.

Irene loved to travel and go to the casinos and the Pocono Mountains, loved to sew, enjoyed polkas and going antique shopping, playing the lottery and bingo, rooted for the Philadelphia Phillies, and loved going to her Hudak family reunions in Cementon. She also treasured her family cats.

She is survived by daughters Mary Rose of Albany, NY and Kristina (Vincent) DiNino of North Catasauqua, and her grandchildren Adam Silverstein, Victoria Markowitz and Jacqueline Markowitz, and sister Rose (Dennis) O’Donnell of Mansfield, Texas.

Irene was predeceased by sisters Mary Kovach, Helen Tacker, Margaret Csulik, Josephine Krywczuk, and brothers Stephen Jr., William, John and Paul Majercak, many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Lehigh Valley, in Texas, and Lendak, Slovakia.

Funeral services will be private.

Charlette Ann (Charles) Vitalos, 79, passed away August 31, 2024 in St. Lukes Hospital Bethlehem. She was the loving wife of Thomas J. Vitalos, to whom she shared 41 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2009. Charlette was born in Allentown on August 25, 1945, and was the daughter of Charles Thomas Charles and Helen (Wagner) Charles. Charlette graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School in 1963 and from Bethlehem Business School in 1965. She was employed by E. C. Machine & Son as an assistant secretary. She was then a homemaker for 10 years and then went to work for Sears Credit Central for 15 years. Upon the Sears office closing in 1992, she was employed by Peoples First Credit Union for 23 years, retiring as a loan officer/supervisor. Charlette enjoyed bowling, ceramics, mystery novels, crocheting, crossword puzzles, trivia games, pinocle and spending time with family and friends. She was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by her daughter- Jolene and her partner Sibby Rampulla, her son- Christopher and his wife Melissa and her granddaughters- Amelia and Lillian.
Her children will welcome family and friends at Kohut Funeral Home, Inc. 950 N. Front St. Allentown, PA 18102 on Saturday, September 14th at 10-11AM. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Reinaldo Viruet, 86, of Whitehall, passed away December 2, 2021. He was the loving husband of Carmen M. (DelRio) Viruet. Born in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Juan and Rosario (Ortega) Viruet. Reinaldo was a member of Iglesia Evangelica Pentecostal Church in Allentown. He enjoyed boxing, training, participating in rooster fighting, and playing music on his guitar for his grandchildren. He also liked to watch wrestling and boxing on tv and listen to oldies. He will be deeply missed.
Survivors: wife; children- Milagros Viruet, Reinaldo Viruet Jr., Rosa Viruet; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sisters- Blanca, Nerjeada and Zorido Viruet. He was predeceased by his son- John DelRio, grandchildren- Reinaldo Viruet Conception and Mashawon Viruet, and 8 brothers.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 9th 6-8PM and Friday 10AM-12PM with a Service at 12PM in Kohut Funeral Home, Inc. 950 N. Front St. Allentown, PA 18102. Burial to follow in Garden of Peace Cemetery, Whitehall.

Grace Jane (Skrovanek) Vrablec, age 83, of Allentown passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. She was born in Allentown on May 16, 1935 to the late Anthony S. Skrovanek and Catherine M. (Brogan). She married Nicholas P. Vrablec of Allentown on June 20, 1959.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Nicholas and her siblings Francis, Anthony and Joseph. Grace is survived by her loving children, Mark (Janice) of Davenport, Iowa and Mary (Alphonse) Rivera of Whitehall, Pennsylvania. Also survived by grandchildren Laura and Adam Vrablec of Chicago, Illinois; Mishele and Alphonse Rivera; Aleyah and Maria Grace Rivera of Whitehall, Pennsylvania. Sisters Joan Ziegler and Kathleen Mory of Bethlehem; Patricia Suhr of Schenectady, New York; Terry Lysek of Allentown; brothers Eugene Skrovanek of Brooklyn, New York and Jerome Skrovanek of Olympia, Washington and sister-in-law Mary Ann Reese of Fountain Hill.

Grace enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as her home was always the gathering spot. All who loved her knew they would receive a warm welcome and fresh baked goodies upon arrival. She enjoyed playing bingo and trips to the casino and especially loved keeping up with the activities and adventures of her beloved grandchildren. She has inspired us with her spirit, love of family, and witty sense of humor. She will be greatly missed.

Frank Vyhonsky, 63, of Whitehall, passed away November 17, 2016. He was the loving husband of over 40 years to Jane (Kobulska) Vyhonsky. Born in Presov, Slovakia, he was the son of the late Frank and Margita (Sechna) Vyhonsky. Frank retired as a mechanical engineer from Bosch- RexRoth. He was very active and enjoyed playing tennis, riding bicycle, golfing and traveling. Frank also enjoyed watching soccer games.

Survivors:
Wife- Jane Vyhonsky; Children- Linda Simmers and husband Darren of Allentown, Thomas Vyhonsky and wife Kylene of Minnesota; Grandchildren- Landon, Lucas and Andrew; Brother- Jozef Vyhonsky and wife Monika of Slovakia; Sister- Darina Krajnakova and husband Miro of Slovakia.

A viewing will be held Monday 9-11AM with a service at 11AM in Kohut Funeral Home, Inc. 950 N. Front St. Allentown, PA 18102.

Anthony P. Valek, Sr., 89, of Allentown, passed away June 22, 2016. He was the loving husband of the late Lorraine G. (Gross) Valek. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Kristina J. (Gastan) Valek. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Anthony was a member of St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church. Anthony retired from Allison Manufacturing after many years of service.

Survivors: Sons- Anthony Valek Jr. and fiancé Debbi Stettler of Allentown, Robert Valek and wife Rovena of Maryland, Joseph Valek and wife Jamie of Upper Macungie Twp; Daughter- Lorraine Moyer and companion Joseph Madura of Allentown; 7 Grandchildren; 1 Great Granddaughter. He was predeceased by his son- James Valek.

A viewing will be held Monday 9:30-10:30AM in Kohut Funeral Home, Inc. 950 N. Front St. Allentown, PA 18102. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11AM in St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church 924 N. Front St. Allentown, PA 18102. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.

Nicholas P. Vrablec of Whitehall died August 28, 2015. He was the husband of Grace J. Vrablec. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Emerich Vrablec and Mary (Kralik). He honorably served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Nick was a Fireman for the City of Allentown for 28 years and he retired in 1994. He was a member of St. John Slovak Baptist Church.

Survivors: in addition to his wife Grace, son Mark of Davenport, Iowa and wife Janice, daughter Mary and husband Alphonse Rivera of Whitehall, 4 grandchildren Laura and Adam Vrablec, and Aleyah and Maria Grace Rivera. Sisters Valeria Bernardo of Jacksonville, Florida and Mary Ann Reese of Fountain Hill. He was predeceased by 4 sisters and 1 brother.
